Following stops in Washington, D.C., Las Vegas, İstanbul, Budapest, London, Maui and Singapore, the tour arrives in Shanghai, bringing father and son together at a defining succession moment for Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group.

When Wolfgang Puck opened Spago in 1982, he introduced a new style of cooking that would become known as California cuisine, defined by seasonal ingredients, imaginative cooking and a distinctly Californian spirit. More than four decades later, that philosophy continues across Spago restaurants around the world, with each location drawing inspiration from the ingredients and culture of its surroundings.

Today, that story is entering a new era. In 2025, Byron Lazaroff‑Puck became President of Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group after building his culinary foundation in acclaimed Michelin‑starred kitchens around the world. The Generational Tasting Tour marks this new chapter, bringing Wolfgang and Byron together across the group’s restaurants to explore what each brings to the table.

That exchange comes to life through a multi‑course tasting menu, with Wolfgang revisiting dishes, flavors and techniques from throughout his career and Byron responding with a contemporary perspective shaped by his international training and inspiration from each destination. In Shanghai, local ingredients, flavors and traditions become part of that conversation, giving the dinner a distinct sense of place.

The experience extends beyond the plate. Each guest receives a collectible newspaper‑style menu inspired by Wolfgang’s longstanding love of newspapers and storytelling, which evolves throughout the experience into a more contemporary visual language reflecting Byron’s approach to design and technology. Their shared love of film connects the two perspectives through reimagined movie posters and narrative details, while interactive AR elements unlock additional stories and moments throughout the evening.
