Actiontec Brings Symmetrical 10G Ethernet to Existing Residential Coax

Actiontec, a leading provider in broadband connectivity, today announced the EA-10, a new service-provider solution that delivers symmetrical 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity over suitable existing 75-ohm RG6 and RG59 coaxial cabling.
Designed to simplify the final in-home connection, the EA-10 extends full-duplex Ethernet from a network interface or demarcation point to the subscriber gateway using coax already installed in the home. The EA-10 supports 10 Gbps connectivity over coax lengths of up to 150 feet and 5 Gbps over lengths of up to 300 feet, enabling multi-gigabit connectivity without installing new in-home fiber or Ethernet cabling.
By reusing suitable dedicated coax runs, the EA-10 can reduce installation complexity and disruption, accelerate time to service, and in many scenarios help providers avoid an additional in-home wiring truck roll. The point-to-point solution converts between standard F-type coax and 10G Ethernet, with applications including fiber network-interface-device-to-gateway connectivity, fixed-wireless receiver extension, dedicated links in multi-dwelling properties, and high-capacity wired backhaul for Wi-Fi 7 and future-generation Wi-Fi networks.

Multiple leading North American telecommunications service providers and cable operators have expressed interest in the EA-10, with initial evaluations underway. Actiontec expects to begin volume shipments later in 2026, with additional product and availability information to be announced.
